Skiing in sunset

It’s been warm here in MA. We haven’t skied in this season so we decided to go at least once. Luckily, we have Nashoba Ski Area near by, in 15 minutes so we went there to ski just for a few hours. It was great! 55 degrees out, no jacket, and best of all, we enjoyed skiing in the sun. Watching the sunset from the lift was so peaceful. The sun was going down behind the trees. The color of the skyline, mixture of a flamingo pink, navy  blue and gray, reminded me of a quilt I sew at a quilt show in Tokyo, Japan back in 2005, a year before I moved to the US. It was very contemporary design, but it had a old-fashioned flair by using some pure Japanese fabrics. The sunset gave me an urge to create a new piece.
