Japanese style Jacket class at Quilted Crow
We just finished 3 sessions of “Make Japanese style jacket in your own size” class at The Quilted Crow in Boxboro, MA. This class dosen’t use paper patterns to cut the fabric. We take a couple of measurement of your body, do a simple calculation and start cutting fabric with me. What I like about this class is everyone’s jacket is so totally different. It is such a fun to see what types of fabrics (color, texture and patterns) each one choose. Some of them add Sashiko to the jacket, and some of them use patchwork to construct it. Look at the photo. Stephanie made a jacket very similar to my sample by adding Sashiko on the front and back body. The fabric she chose was just gorgeous; purple base with plum blossoms and maple leaves. She has done quite a bit of Sashiko Sampler pieces so her stitches are very good.
Laurie chose 4 printed fabric to do patchwork. What a color coordination! Green, blue and purple are blended so well and she looks stunning! She will be making the second one with some Sashiko added.
Thank you everyone for the fun class!
