Japanese Jelly Roll at NEQM

Japanese Jelly roll

Look what one roll of jelly roll can create! The shop manager Quita is holding a quilt  top made out of a Japanese jelly roll. A Yarn-dyed fabric was used for the borders.  Debbie Janes did a wonderful job putting the quilt together.
New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, MA has many bolts of those high quality fabrics imported from Japan. They are printed, yarn-dyed and solid colors. This particular roll is a combination of pinkish/brownish colors, which is a popular color combination for a kimono and Obi (sash). The feminine but the settled looks has been accepted by many women to wear.
