Beginner’s Sashiko class at Quilted Crow
I had a Beginner’s Sashiko class at Quilted Crow all day today. It was a perfect day to sit and stitch since it rained all day. We used a packet called Sampler, which has a sashiko pattern pre-printed. You follow the equally distanced lines to get to used to evenly spaced stitches. Then you move onto learn how to transfer a design onto a fabric to stitch. The lines transfered onto the fabric are note equally distanced, so you will experience of finding your own comfortable stitch length. I had such a hard working students. They stitched and stitched for 5 – 6 hours with just a little break in the middle! It was such a great group of students and I really enjoyed meeting and chatting with them.
